Venerable Rou Ti makes a comeback

22 September 2013
Sukhi Hotu to all...

It has been a great and challenging year for PHBS.
Firstly, our consecration ceremony of a new Buddharupa enshrined at our new premises' shrinehall.  Then, our affinity with Ven Rou Ti was definitely unbroken ( when Ven. bade farewell to us in the beginning of this year we thought it was for good) , well, she made a comeback. Welcome back Venerable.  Your involvement in our centre hopefully will bring PHBS to a new level. Now we can have Dhamma sharing (mandarin)regularly
on alternate Sundays. The other Sunday is English Dhamma Sharing.

Our additional premises means we can now host visiting monks and expand our activities.  PHBS thanked all donors who have in one way or another donated in cash or in kind to fund the renovation.
 Saddhu! Saddhu! Saddhu!
A little act of generosity goes a long way...

Here,it is for the  Buddhist community of Putra Heights. Although it is still not enough to furnish up the place , no matter what, we will start out with whatever we have.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

PHBS aspires to have a place for the youths to discuss, share experiences and to carry out activities
The highlight of the year , of course, is the successful Land Application. PHBS has received the oficial letter from the Selangor State Government. It was sheer hardwork and patience on the part of the committee. A BIG Saddhu to them.
Right now,  A BUDDHIST TEMPLE  in Putra Heights is not too far from reality. Your contributions in whatever way possible is certainly most welcome to make it a success.
 VOLUNTEER your services.

Mid -Autumn Mooncake Festival

14th September 2013
Delights..... Fun...... Excitement and  lots of Chatter....

Children of the Sunday school let their hair down for the evening. They were delighted to show off their lantern and to walk about the vicinity of the temple ground.  Accompanied by their parents the children strutted with their lanterns . It was such a spectacle as the lights of the lanterns brightened the darkness of the night. Likened to the Dhamma dispelling all the darkness of our path until the ultimate bliss.

A Big Saddhu to all teachers and co-ordinators of the Sunday Dhamma School of PHBS.
May the Triple Gem be your Guiding Light always.

PHBS would like to extend Thanks and A big Saddhu to those who were present to make the event a  great success.

Consecration ceremony September 8th 2013

8th September 2013
9.00 a.m      Buddharupa was sat in position

10.30 a.m.   PHBS is set for the consecration ceremony

Sayadaw U Silacara from Klang was invited to perform the ceremony.
Consecration means associating the place with the spiritual upliftment so that devotees who come to this place of worship can focus his/her  thoughts on the Enlightened One. Hence what better person but Sayadaw U Silacara .

Taking Precepts and Puja Chanting by devotees.

Offerings of lights to the Blessed Ones

Chanting and Blessings

A lunch Dana

PHBS called it a day after a short Mandarin Dhamma Sharing by Bro. Leong Kok Heng. His topic  " Buddhist Heritage of the world."

All's Well that ends well.
It was a tiring day for both volunteers and committee members nevertheless it was a day well- spent.

With that PHBS has a  new aspiration, that is, to see more new faces and new blood to give a boost to the running of the centre. Well??

......moments to ponder...
Although Albert Einstein was certainly not a Buddhist, these statements sound much like it:
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the 'universe', a part limited in time and space.
He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest
- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affectation for a few people near us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion
to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."

Buddharupa going to the Ground Floor

8th September... a mission fulfilled for PHBS.

Shifting the  main Buddharupa....
After much contemplation, the committee of PHBS has finally decided to shift it down.

It ain't heavy... .... IT is the BUDDHA. Volunteers weaving through the narrow staircase, step by step, the men and boys are very careful and mindful

Successfully brought down and coming to the Main door of the newly-renovated shrine hall...

The strong men working hard  to put the Buddharupa in position.

The Buddharupa in position at the shrine hall. Taking a closer look ...
 so serene, calm and inspiring...

Expansion and Renovation

Expansion for PHBS centre is currently in progress.

PHBS has decided to rent the premises next door due to space constraints in carrying out the weekly activities. On the same note, the committee thinks that it will be more accessible to people , in particular, the elderly if the shrine hall were to move to the ground floor, so here we are... folks.

Renovation is in progress and right now it is at the last stage and with the cleaning up done, hopefully, we will hold the consecretion on the 8th Sept at 9 am.
WE hope all members and non members as well, if you care to come. All are welcome to witness this milestone of PHBS.

The successfully renovated shrine hall.
A big Saddhu to all well-wishers and donors  who contributed in cash or in kind.
May all the merits accrued help us in our practice in attaining the ultimate bliss of Nibbana.

The Gift of Truth Excels All Gifts.
