ACTIVITIES HIGHLIGHT - 1st to 7th OCTOBER 2011

YOUTH SECTION GATHERING - 1st OCTOBER (SAT)
The PHBS Youth Section will gather this Saturday at the centre from 4pm to 6pm for fellowship including Puja service, hymns singing and contemporary video sharing and discussions. If you are aged 13 years & above or have children of this age group, do come and join this week's gathering from 4 to 6pm.

SUNDAY DHAMMA TALK - 2nd OCTOBER
The Sunday Dhamma Talk this week will be titled "FRIENDSHIP" presented by Uncle Vijaya. The Sunday Puja Service will start at 10.30am and Dhamma Talk at 10.45am. Please note that the Monthly Dana, normally scheduled on the first Sunday of the month, has been cancelled for this month.
BIODATA: Mr Vijaya Samarawickrama (also well known as Uncle Vijaya) is a very inspiring and respected Buddhist teacher that has inspired many through the lens of Buddhism by his noble action in expounding the Dhamma. He graduated as a specialist in the Teaching of English as a Second Language from the Malayan Teachers’ Training College in Liverpool, England and later on a B.A.(Hons) in English and Linguistics from the University of Malaya and an M.A. (Drama and Theater).  He is not only a dedicated teacher but a talented writer that has assisted the Late Chief Venerable, Ven K Sri Dhammananda with his numerous publications. He travels around the world to share the gift of Dhamma by delivering talks and organising workshops and seminars in schools, colleges, universities and Buddhist organisations.

SUNDAY DHAMMA CLASS - 2nd OCTOBER
SDS Class will be ON as usual from 10.30am to noon.

MEDITATION CLASS - 4th OCTOBER (TUE)
Do come and join the session conducted by Rev Nyanaramsi each Tuesday from 8.30pm to 10.00pm. Yogis are advised to wear loose pants and T-shirts so that they are able to sit comfortably. The teachings will be English and Mandarin; and will include about 30min of walking/sitting meditation towards the end of each session.

There will not be any Dhamma Talk this week but the Sunday Puja Service will carry on as usual.

SUNDAY DHAMMA CLASS - 25th SEPTEMBER

NEW MOON DAY -27th SEPTEMBER (TUE)
The centre will be open from 9am to 11am on New Moon Day for offering of flowers and light. There will be chanting and you can also take the 8 precepts for the Uposatta day.

Mid Autumn Festival Celebration - 10 September 2011 (Sat)


Let us appreciate our traditional heritage, the mooncake festival to strengthen our family bond. We then extend our sphere of concern & friendliness to foster a cohesive & supportive community in Putra Heights, hence, towards a society of compassion, wisdom & gratitude.

May we sincerely comtemplate & make the aspiration for the peace & well-being of our beloved nation as well.

我们应借即将来临的传统节日-中秋节来巩固与家人的关系。当然我们也应加强邻里之间的联系,以打造一个和谐的社会。让我们以最真诚的心维护和平,愿马来西亚国泰民安。

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES 3rd to 9th SEPTEMBER


Below are the planned activities for the coming week.

YOUTH SECTION GATHERING ON 3rd SEPTEMBER 2011 (SAT)
In line with the School Holidays and Hari Raya Puasa, the gathering this week is OFF.

DHAMMA TALK & MONTHLY DANA OFFERING - 4th SEPTEMBER 2011 (SUN)
We are pleased to inform that we have invited members of the Sangha to our Centre this Sunday to allow devotees the opportunity to offer Lunch Dana. If you would like to offer Dana, kindly be at the Centre by 10.30am on 4th September. 

SUNDAY DHAMMA SCHOOL - 4th SEPTEMBER (SUN)
Sunday Dhamma Class for children will be OFF this Sunday (4th September). Class will resume as usual on 11th September.

INTRODUCTION TO SATIPATTHA MEDITATION CLASS 
Bhante Nyanaramsi will be away for the next 3 weeks and class will resume on 20th September. However, the PHBS Centre will continue to be opened for GROUP SITTING every Tuesday. Do come and join in the sitting on 6th September (Tue) @8.30pm.

LANTERN FESTIVAL - 10th SEPTEMBER 2011 (SAT)
PHBS will be organizing a lantern festival cum fellowship on 10th Sept (Sat) and we have organized some interesting programs for the evening including Puja Session, Lantern Procession, Quiz and Potluck Dinner. Do come for the fellowship and let the children join in the fun.
